summary:
Jill Cummins, the wife of a former Tennessee teacher accused with kidnapping 15 year old Elizabeth Thomas, wants to end her marriage of 31 years. After asking for her husband to bring Elizabeth home, Cummins filed for divorce citing that there were differences in the marriage and that her husband, Tad Cummins is "guilty of inappropriate marital conduct." Out of Tennessee's 15 grounds for divorce she selected the one that said, "the husband or wife is guilty of such cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct towards the spouse as renders cohabitation unsafe and improper, which may also be referred to in pleadings as inappropriate marital conduct. " Ted Cummins disappeared with his student Elizabeth after a student reported seeing the two kissing in his classroom.
analysis:
This article is really astonishing to me because i have never heard about something like this happening in real life. I feel like i've only read about these crazy unreasonable stories. The main idea i believe was to inform america that the weird people in the world are closer than we think and could be anywhere at any time, including our schools. I hope that teachers or anyone dealing very closely with kids are able to go through more background checks, and that Tad Cummins is put in Jail for a very long time. This can be synthesized to women's voices really being heard for the first time at the Seneca falls convention in New York.

People make poor choices and often don't give a damn. Humanity sucks. Plants are better. We should just let trees take over.
