How Much Exercise Do I Really Need?
summary:
Between work, meals, family and friend time, school, etc., it is very easy for one to fall short of exercising their body. This is why, for many, a pre-goal should be increasing the efficiency of a workout. American College of Sports Medicine suggest that 2 and a half hours a week of intense workout is ideal to keep your body healthy and fit. Activities such as jogging, ballroom dancing, biking, or swimming can help complete this task. If you are able to continue a conversation with someone next to you while you are working out, you are in the intermediate zone, which is not highly intense workouts. If however, you don't find time during the week to spend 30 minutes a day working out, cramming it all on the weekends has as much health benefits as it does spreading it out. However, a down side to cramming is that you could overwork your body and or pull a muscle. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) say that doing high intensity workouts can reduce you needed workout time up to half. It is important to exercise because, not only does it make you look better and more toned, it makes you feel better too, and can lengthen your life depending on how active you are.
synthesis:
I think that it is very important to be active in some sort of way. For me, I do a routine workout every night and morning in order to start the day energized and to go to sleep easier at night. I think that people should start being more active if they aren't already because it burns calories and has positive effects on your body. However, exercising is just one factor out of many that help people to achieve the health and look they are wanting. What you eat, how much water you drink, amount of sleep you are getting, exercise, and more are all important aspects to one's health. I think this information in the article is good because it is motivating that you only need ⅔ hours per week of exercise.
