Summary: Gwen and Terry Zwanziger's daughter recently died from the flu. Her symptoms consisted of a sore throat and small fever. Many have died from the flu. There is even a group on Facebook that consists of these moms, labeled "Flu Moms". Terry eventually took their daughter, Shannon, to the clinic. The doctor had told them to let the flu "run its course". Fast forward 40 hours and Shannon is struggling to complete simple tasks such as even get into the bath. This is where Shannon died.
Analysis: This is really shocking to me, I did not realize how many children died from the flu. This girl in particular even went to the doctor. It's extremely sad that this happened. I can only imagine how many died from the flu two hundred or three hundred years ago. I hope that in the future, we can prevent this from happening in more than just keeping your child home from school or getting the flu shot.
