Nicholas Godfrey Period 8: Trump: Rubio is eligible

Summary: Presidential candidate Donald Trump has released a statement that he believes that Marco Rubio is fully eligible for candidacy. He says that although his parents were not American citizens, he was born on American soil, so he is fully eligible to run for president. He also said that Ted Cruz is definitely not eligible. Trump says that although Cruz's parents were American citizens, he was born in Canada and had Canadian citizenship until 15 months ago. The interviewer then said that Cruz didn't know. Trump responded with the fact that Cruz also didn't know about the loan (that's a whole other story) and why would we want a president who can't remember a $1 million loan. He also brought up the fact that Cruz insulted New Yorkers which he took personally.

Analysis: I think its good that Trump is finally saying something good about somebody although he may be slamming somebody else at the same time. I still definitely don't want Trump anywhere near presidency. I find it quite ironic when Trump talks about how Rubio was born on American soil. Wasn't it Trump who said earlier that he doesn't want a bunch of non-citizens just coming to America to have their children so they will have American citizenship? I believe it was him who claimed that he would try to get that changed. I feel like everybody is trying to play dirty and make other people seem corrupted. We also see this with Hillary Clinton how people found how she deleted all her emails. This is just like the Muckbusters of the Gilded Age in the fact that they are trying to go through and get articles on any type of corruption. I just hate how there is this much political drama this far away from the election.
