El Chapo Guzman: Sean Penn defends Rolling Stone interview Jasmine Rodriguez Period 4

In this article, Sean Penn (U.S.) actor is said to not be shamed for his Rolling Stones interview with El Chapo. Although he was criticized for the interview, in the end the interview is what led the authorities able to capture El Chapo and put him in jail. The article also mentions when El Chapo was jailed, and minor details about his extradition to America.

This article is somewhat similar to the forcing of Native Americans onto reservations in Oklahoma and Oregon. They were seen to have been doing something wrong (residing on land that was entitled to the whites in order to stimulate economy), and because of that, they were sent somewhere unfamiliar and not at all like their home. This is similar to El Chapo's situation of being taken to America because he has been doing wrong on the grounds he calls his home.

  1. Its funny because I wouldn't have thought that El Chapo would've said yes to an interview with the Rolling Stones. (Jillian Linnear P.8)
