This displays another example of opposing views among the Democrats and Republicans which is leading to ineffectiveness and discombobulation in the federal government. Lifting this 40 year ban on crude oil would undoubtedly pit those who work in oil production against those who work in refineries. This article reflects yet another scenario where the politicians we elected to serve as our government leaders cannot arrive upon an agreement together for the sake of our nation.

Congress Poised to Lift Oil Export Ban by Caroline North 9th period
Congress is possibly lifting a 40 year old ban on crude oil exports onto the national market. This effort was halted in the fall due to Obama issuing a veto threat on the legislation. Many Republicans however, especially Texans are pushing to lift the ban in hopes it will stabilize the oil industry.
