This week has been quite upsetting because three significant celebrities have died. In my opinion David Bowie, Alan Rickman, and Glenn Frey should at least have tiny paragraphs in history books published in the future. Additionally, celebrities like Amy Winehouse, Heath Ledger, and Kurt Cobain died at such a young age and it's disheartening because they could have done so much more with all of the talent that they had. As we move into the Roaring Twenties, I'm sure we'll learn about the early death of Jean Harlow and her extensive career during the late 20s, early 30s.

Alexis Farrell, 5th period: Musicians, Other Celebs React to Death of Glenn Frey
Today, Glenn Frey, co-founder of the Eagles, passed away. Looking at the title of this article, his death obviously affected several other artists. Paul Stanley from KISS says that he is "shocked" and the actor, Miles Teller calls him "one of the greatest voices, musicians, contributors and collaborators to rock and roll music." Even though artists aren't mentioned in every history lesson, they definitely shape how people act/dress/feel during certain eras.

How awful, and hearing about another artist dead in the same week really disheartens me. It's a reminder that everyone is human, even the greats...
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the death of my idol, James Dean. May he R.I.P.

ReplyDeleteIt's so odd to see these deaths come right after another. I guess its like they say, bad news comes in threes. It is truly disheartening to see such great talent be lost so quickly.
