Snow, ice, deep-freeze hit large swath of USA- Umair Nasser

Heavy snow piled up Sunday from West Virginia to Philadelphia, according to AccuWeather.com. North-central West Virginia was getting 3 to 6 inches, but snow was plaguing football games in Washington,Baltimore and Philadelphia. By the end of the day, snow will blanket the rest of Pennsylvania and reach New York City, according to AccuWeather.com. Icy rain will make roads treacherous from Kentucky to North Carolina and Virginia. Storm has the potential to be a "historic ice event" Police in Memphis urged motorists to stay home altogether.

Analysis: This event has impacted us here in Dallas as far as closing all schools in the area along with many businesses and stores. People in New England and the Midwest are used to SNOW, which is much easier to commute in. ICE, on the other hand, prevents cars from being on the road which basically stops all life in an area like Dallas. We eventually need to either find a quick solution to these problems, or just be comfortable in understanding that once a year, we will have to be trapped in our houses without complaint.

  1. Although it's easy to get a little antsy after spending so much time indoors, I think the ice offered us an unexpected but very deserved extra break c:
