Ok so this guy Michael Morton was convicted for the brutal murder of his wife way back in the day. The prosecutor gave the jury a detailed description of what allegedly happened that night. Which shouldn't have been allowed anyway because it's speculation since he had no evidence. But i digress. The prosecutor, Anderson, literally cried as he was telling the story. Which I'm sure was just a bullshit tactic to get his rates up. There was no evidence for his case, no murder weapon, no eye witnesses and no motive. In fact the guy made up a motive of this sweet Michael guy beating his wife to death because she wouldn't have sex with him on his birthday. And actually there was evidence against the prosecutors case that he withheld from the case even after the court ordered him to give over all evidence. The son Eric was actually present when the murder happened! He says his daddy was not home and described the guy who did it! The neighbors even described a green van and a guy going into the woods where a bandanna was found, which was the most critical piece of evidence the prosecutor withheld. The guy spent 25 years in prison before DNA exonerated him and proved it was an already convicted felon who had been caught after brutally murdering another woman. Michael's son who was three at the time never got to see his daddy growing up except for twice a year prison visits that he eventually stopped because he was embarrassed. After all of that Michael says he is just happy he got to know what pain and suffering was for a better understanding of life. He had a religious epiphany in prison and now works to help other people who were unjustly convicted get out. The prosecutor became a judge, but he lost his license after all of this came out. He was ordered to a weak ass sentence of 10 days which turned into five, 500 hours of community service, and a $500 fine. *sigh*. He says "I apologize that the system screwed up. I've beaten myself up on what I could have done different and I don't know."
Now my opinion. Now usually I am the crusader for every party in every story. I urge people not to attack directly just because everyone else does, BUT OMG! Michael is a good man and I'm glad he found Jesus because if that was me or my father or anybody I knew that Anderson (prosecutor) fella would be dead. I mean come on. I cannot even express the level of anger I am feeling right now. How do you continue to prosecute a man after finding out his son was there when the mother died and he wasn't. Does the fact that the son has not only lost his mother unfairly but is now about to lose his father too ever cross your mind? I mean prosecutors are the ones that are supposed to get the justice for the people. I thought lies were supposed to be left up to the defense. (excuse me reasonable doubt) I see now that as long as your conviction rates are high justice doesn't mean squat shit! Ugh I am typing so hard right now. I pray that Anderson burns in hell for the rest of eternity. I hope his soul encounters endless pain in this life and the next. (God and I are working on the whole though shalt not judge or hate others thing) All i can do is repeat, I am glad Michael found Jesus.
