There is a new fungus that is spreading across the states and even in different countries as well. The US, Australia, India, Germany, Isreal, Venezuela, and South Africa have all have all reported cases on the infectious fungus called Candida Auris. We've been aware of this species of fungus for a long time, but it's only just now becoming infectious. Scientists aren't sure why, however it may have something to do with the way people use antibiotics unnecessarily and how antibiotic use is very widespread in food production.
This is pretty scary. Are we going to have a disease spread that we won't know how to treat? If not this one, are we breeding new super bugs that will one day wipe out large populations? Should we be eating food that is more local that we grow ourselves? All of these are questions I think the people who know of this disease should be asking and trying to find the answer to.
I think this deserves more awareness I love the topic but I do think you could relate it back to history
