Lime Scooters - Maria Golici

Lime bikes and scooters were taken away in Lubbock due to the anticipation and prevention of the Texas Tech V. University of Virginia game. Many people were burning the bikes and scooters to celebrate the victory of Texas against Michigan State. The Mayor of Lubbock called the actions "unfortunate." The bikes and scooters were taken away and will brought back early Tuesday morning. The damages made are estimated to be worth thousands of dollars and the suspects are expected to pay. 

I am really confused as to why people would burn the bikes and scooters. I don't understand how they are a way to celebrate Texas victory. From not having public transportation to walking outside and finding it available on the sidewalk people have lost an appreciation of what we have and are taking it for granted.
