Mississippi's state flag has longed had the image of the Confederate battle flag, which is also know as the Southern Cross. The Mississippians who'd like to display their state flag minus the confederate imagery can rejoice in a newly approved specialty license plate. The gov signed a bill last week allowing the new license plate. The new design is going to now not have the confederate symbol and has 19 stars in a circle around a large center star and a red stripe on either side. The specialty license plates will be available starting July 1.

I think that this is great and that now having this change for the good of the people. I am kind of surprised that it took this long after all these years but and the same time I am not surprised because of the problems still going on today and how nothing has really changed since then and people are still cruel. So its good to see that they are changing this.
