Daviah Harrison-Brunei's LGBT community flees 'inhumane' new stoning laws

This article was last edited by Rebecca Wright and Alexandra Field on April 2,2019. This article states Brunei would adopt Islamic laws, including death by stoning for gay sex. Many people in the LGBT community thought about leaving, but some people stayed, living in fear.

This law is so sad and I hate that people can't be who they want without a cruel punishment. This reminds me of how strict some states have been with gays getting married or having people reject making their cake. I really hope their laws change ,but it may be a while before that happens.

  1. I agree it is really sad that people are so cruel even when they are just trying to be who they are.

  2. This is especially upsetting when you think about how we've been making progress in the world for LGBTQ rights. I hate that this is going in the opposite direction.
