The article i read talks about Officer Amber Guyger entering Botham Shem Jean's apartment, which she thought was hers. The door was slightly ajar as she tried to use her key to enter. She had just come home from work and was still in uniform. When she opened the door, she saw the interior was nearly dark. She fired two shots at Jean in the torso, while on the phone with 911. It was only when they asked for her address, that she realized she was in fact in the wrong apartment. She then stated that she believed there was a burgular in her apartment when she fired her weapon. Jean died later that night in the hospital.

This is a very devestating event because she didn't even think twice about her decision or to the fact that she could've been the one in the wrong. Back in history (1900's) alot of whites accused blacks of being criminals or doing wrong just because of their skin color, and it relates to this event because of the fact that she didn't second guess anything. Her decision that night caused Jean's to go through great greif.
