In Lebanon there are beaches popping up that are dedicated to only women. These beaches do not permit men, so the primarily Muslim Lebanese women are allowed to take off their conservative clothing and relax at the beach. The women have no restrictions on their beachwear, so they are allowed to express themselves and feel comfortable.
The article was written on September 10th by Vivian Yee and Hwaida Saad. In Lebanon, it is a cultural normality for women to be covered in a highly conservative fashion and to be treated less than men. This is similar to U.S. history, as women have been discriminated against and treated as inferior to their male counterparts. The article was written to inform the world of some of the progress of the conservative cultural lifestyle. Although it is still standard for women to be covered in front of men, these all-women beaches are a step towards allowing women to express themselves and break free from a somewhat oppressive culture. The article is a large shift in perspective to what is normal in other places of the world. The beaches allow women to feel comfortable with themselves and to cool down under the hot, sticky Lebanese sun.

I think that this is a very significant advance in Lebanese's highly conservative culture, as these beaches allow women to experience a communal delight in the human body in a respectful and relaxing way. I believe that the development of these beaches is a key event in the world today, reaching towards the acceptance and respect of the female body in a male dominated society.
