Hurricane Harvey victims are still recovering one year after the tropical storm hit Houston. The Texas relief system has done a good job providing a relief and supplies to struggling families and neighborhoods, but the poorer families and neighborhoods are still struggling to recover. Although this happened a year ago, its effects have been lasting. An event that happened in the past that relates to this event is Hurricane Katrina, because both of these horrible events have left countless homes damaged in their wake. This was written to inform everyone about the horrible situations that people are in all across Houston. I don't know much about the author, Manny Fernandez, but he wrote this for the New York Times, so I believe its reliable. In conclusion, we as a nation need to do more to make sure that no one goes left unnoticed.
I never would’ve thought that the Hurricane Harvey victims are still recovering today. Knowing it happened a whole yr ago and that people are still suffering because they’re poor and can’t get the Texas relief system to help makes me want to cry;(((
