NASA center in Alabama gets 1st woman as permanent director -Alma Alvarado- Cabrera-

NASA named Joan Singer (an engineer) as a permanent director of its flight center in Alabama and she's the first women to do so. Joan Singer was already an acting director of the Marshall Space Flight center when the former director Todd May retired in July.  Joan's 32-year agency career began with an internship and so NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine tells news agencies that she's an impressive leader. This will be a new experience for NASA , '' a huge asset to Marshall's  critical work supporting NASA's goals of returning to the moon to stay'' words from Jim Bridestine . NASA's propulsion center also known as The center in Huntsville , where rockets are designed and tested for travel in space has nearly 6,000 civil service and employees and an annual budget of about $2.8 billion . Joan Singer will keep NASA going for sure.

This was a recent event , which shows that women are being slowly allowed to have major roles in jobs as NASA allowed the first women in Alabama to be a permanent Director . I knew that NASA always had man taking on the big roles since the beginning . This much reminds me of the movie ''Hidden Figures''  where three African-American women at NASA serve as the brains behind one of the greatest operations ,The moon landing. Women deserve to take on and do what they work for and be recognized for what they do.  This article is for women to get inspired and to keep working hard to get to where they want to be and for anyone to show them that women can take a huge responsibility as well . This is a positive influence to all the hard working women especially. The associated Press shows support to NASA's choice as they follow up with positive comments said by NASA's administrator and become knowledgeable to what Joan Singer does. This article is important to show and appreciate women with the greatest minds. It opens the doors for women who want to work with NASA in the future.

  2. I agree that this new position now held by a woman opens many doors, and encourages others to follow in her footsteps.

  3. Chloe Meinershagen - I'm excited for the future of women in higher jobs, however it is still saddening to think about how long it has taken America. After recently watching a video over the pay gap in the world, it seems so ridiculous to see how long women have been disadvantaged. And yes, I totally agree about the reference to Hidden Figures! Such an empowering movie.
