Aretha Franklin Died without a will, leaving her estate's future uncertain
Summary:
This article basically talked about how Aretha Franklin passed away on August 16th at the age of 76 from pancreatic cancer and didn't leave a will. When superstars pass away practical concerns present themselves such as who is keeping the superstar's property and estate.Aretha had an estimated worth of approximately $80 million and according to papers filled in Michigan's Oakland Country court the singer was unwed at the time of her death and survived by her 4 sons.According to laws in Michigan-the state where the singer lived most of her life, her four sons would get an equal share of all of it.Before Aretha died people tried to convince her to leave a will but never did. It is still not clear on what will happen but something will be done.
I don't think it was right for her to decide not to leave a will but yet again she was always a busy person and didn't have time. I think if she would have left a will this process of deciding who will get what would've been easier but I do agree with what they have in mind so far. I think each son should get an equal share of her property and estate.I think that it is fair if they all get an equal share considering that her older son suffers from special needs. The decision of whatever happens should be respected by everyone.
I agree with making the process easier and for each son to get an equal share of her property and estate~ Stephannie Hernandez
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that it was wrong of Aretha Franklin to not leave a will. With so much money and resources, it seems slightly irresponsible of her, even if she was busy. Fantastic post overall!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the fact that it wasnt right for Aretha to leave a will. If she had left one the process of leaving who with what way easier and would have prevented any conflict.
ReplyDeleteI think it would’ve been more convient to leave a will but also it could spark a lot of unnecessary family drama
ReplyDeleteI agree that it isn't correct for Aretha to not leave a will. She had money and it would have been right even if she was occupied.
