A Dallas police officer is being charged with manslaughter in the shooting of a man she mistakenly thought was in her apartment. The police officer, Amber Guyger told the police that she thought she was entering her own apartment not realizing that she was on the wrong floor. Upon entering she thought her home was being burglarized and she aimed open fire. As she tried to use her key to open the door, the door was slightly opened. Both apartments are very similar in terms of the layout according to affidavit.
This article is important because it shows how when as people are not even safe in our own house. Also there are so many unanswered questions to this like how did she not realized she was on the wrong floor or why was his door slightly open.
I agree, the details you included about the story was nice, i wrote about the same thing. What i want to know is how this does relate to history and what makes it significant?
ReplyDeleteI completely agree that there are still some unanswered questions on the topic. I wonder what will become of the story as time goes on.
ReplyDeleteI have heard and seen people saying that she knew the man and he was not a stranger. I don't know if that is entirely true, but if it is her knowing the man she killed makes a huge difference in determining how this case should be handled.
