Hurricane Florence Wreaks Destruction | Daniella Castanheira

Hurricane Florence has been hitting South Carolina and North Carolina and is moving its way toward West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and parts of New England. The storm has caused 18 deaths so far and is responsible for incredible amounts of flooding. Roads in and out of  North and South Carolina have been blocked, cutting off outside help and supplies but keeping people out of Florence's way. Power is spotty and residents have been advised to fill up baths with clean water in case fuel for water treatment plants. Citizens in the hurricane's path have either boarded up or gotten out.

It is irrational to think I or the government can do much about a natural disaster such as this, yet I can't help but want to find a way to help the situation. Hopefully other people who read this article feel the same way and rally around the community, like with Hurricane Katrina. Both of these hurricanes are devastating and shake the foundation of American but, with time and support, we can rise above the tragedy.
