Hurricane Florence Strengthens: Faith Wangermann

Hurricane Florence was upgraded from a tropical storm on Sunday by forecasters, who say the hurricane may make landfall in North and South Carolina by the end of the week. It could be upgraded to a Category 3 hurricane as it gains strength. It is said that the rainfall would be more damaging than the high wind speeds. Flooding could come from heavy rainfall in the form of freshwater flooding and a storm surge at the coast. Florence is joined by many other developing tropical storms in the Atlantic ocean.

Hurricane Florence has been tracked throughout this week and will continue to be monitored as it takes its toll in the US southern coast. At this time last year, historic hurricane Irma was developing, along with Jose and Katia. These storms are not unusual but continue to be dangerous as they have been in the past. This article was not written by a meteorologist, as they relay information from Hurricane centers and meteorologists from other news outlets. Her name is Sandra E. Garcia. This article was written to condense information that has been put out about the developing storm and give an update on the status of the storm for the people who may be affected.
