Colin Kaepernick has brought upon a case against the N.F.L for denying him his own job as a football player, after opting out and becoming a free agent, all because he kneeled during the national anthem back in 2016. What was once a small case, has grown into a fight for his right as a player and as a human being in America. It is deemed unfair that Kaepernick was kicked off for protesting, a worthy right for everyone, whereas many other N.F.L players have been signed and signed again, despite their domestic abuse accusations. Kaepernicks case was proceeded, and gives him a chance to stay in the spotlight during the football season, despite his lack of presence in the actual games. The league may have no other choice, but to pay him equal of what he would have been making if he were still a player. Although the case is much more than money, Kaepernick's intention, from the start, was to raise awareness about police brutality and social injustice. Whether his lack of employment is politically charged, or just done because of he recent performance on the field, he will continue to fight for his right and the rights of others.
It is insane he’s getting all this backlash when other players have domestic abuse accusations
ReplyDeleteI think that the fact that a PEACEFUL protest could receive so much backlash is indicative of so many of the problems our country is currently facing.
