These past few weeks, news has been dedicating lots of time to the Brett Kavanaugh Hearings and the impending confirmation. But changing what seemed like an inevitable confirmation, a woman, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, has come forward to Senator Dianne Feinstein, and now to the Washington Post and other outlets through her lawyer, with allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh from when she was in high school. Mostly democrats have been pushing to open another hearing to allow Dr. Ford to testify under oath, and delay a confirmation. This will now be the case, as a hearing has been scheduled. If her claims are proven true, which Kavanaugh has disputed and claimed false despite her having evidence, he will be disqualified from serving on the Supreme Court. This hearing is comparable and eerily similar to Anita Hill's testimony against Clarence Thomas in 1991, where she accused him of sexual harassment. Likely the entire country will be watching just like they were 27 years ago. Despite Anita Hill's lengthy and impactful testimony, Clarence Thomas was confirmed to the supreme court. It would be unfortunate for history to repeat itself, especially in light of the #MeToo movement all over social media and news outlets. This article was written by two women,Sheryl Gay Stolberg and Julie Hirschfeld Davis, so they likely favor Dr. Blasey Ford's point of view, and aim to avoid a skeptical tone regarding her allegations. The article was published today, the day the letter was made public.

Yes I think it would be very disappointing to see yet another instance where a political figure gets away with such gross acts.
