Robert O'Neil, the man who killed Osama Bin Laden has reportedly no problem with the new Nike add featuring Colin Kaepernick. He believes that the people who are burning their Nike's are stupid, and that if you are really going to be ok with destroying something like that, you should instead donate it to the homeless.

I think that this is really interesting because the man who we, as a country, feel defended us after the terrible tragedy of 9/11, literally does not care about the Nike ad. Others of veterans believe its 'disrepectful' as he isn't sacrificing anything compared to what they've done. It is very refreshing to see a veteran who isn't mad and ready to use the lighter on their 'damn jordans'. It reminds me of past black lives matter movements, especially during times when the military was obviously very outright against the freedom movements. They were specifically ordered to take them down and to not allow outbreaks. Its nice to see that a veteran can see the other side and agree and support them. The audience as a whole I belive was our country, to say "hey. you all need to calm down. The man who killed Osama Bin Laden doesnt care-so why do you?"

  1. I thought this was interesting to read about because I realized people with power have opinions that we wouldn’t expect.

  2. Very true. As of recently, I haven't heard of a person that has the influence O'Neil has say his opinion so directly.
