https://town hall.com/news/world/2018/08/31/dutch-police-shoot-suspect-after-stabbing-at-train-station-n2514738

Two anonymous people were stabbed in Central station. Police shot the suspect, who is said to have been seen walking away with a knife in hand. All three people were taken to the hospital, and details have not been released about their conditions.

Upon entering the article, I knew it was about a stabbing. I did not know that two people had been stabbed, who they were, or whether they were alive or not. This was published very soon after the occurrence, so details are scarce. The article was written for the dutch population, as to remind them to always be aware around themselves. I believe this would have a negative influence, seeing as its a stabbing. The author is writing from the point of view of someone who doesn't know t is not a cop, and it not trying to be a cop. They are doing what they were hired to do, present information in the format of their company. The article is conveying warning signs about people in the world who are slightly off their rocker and ready to murder. The article is important because it keeps the dutch aware of whats happening in their own personal country and lives.

On August 22, this past week, a girl named Faith Finnedy was sent home after wearing braided extensions to school. The mother claims that many girls wear their hair that way, and that the new policy of no weaves, clip-ins, or hair extensions, will affect black girls the most.

I had heard about this recently on Instagram, so I decided to give it a look. I knew what I was getting into, but I did not know that she had already worn her hair like that before with no problem, or that the policy had changed. This article is published with details pertaining the incident, and enough to say they requested for school comment but got no response. It is written to inform those who live in Louisiana and to explain what Steven Finnedy is talking about in his twitter post. The article is written by nbc news, but the original is written by her older brother, Steven Finnedy. It was written to tell those around us how schools are beginning to discreetly target and treat minority's in the system. Adding a "no weaves, clip-in, or extension" policy is very clearly targeted at the group who wears them the most at the school: younger minority girls. The article is important because it tells us exactly what is going on below our noses and alerts us to it. It waves a flag and says, hey, this is important. This needs our attention.
