Second Insider Attack Kills Service Member in Afghanistan

President Trump has enforced a new strategy in Afghanistan, bringing American soldiers there to train with Afghan soldiers and work with them as service members during the war. One service member was shot from behind in what witnesses believe to be an insider attack. This is the 6th attack in Afghan this year. Investigations lead the U.S to suspect that the Taliban ordered the Attacks, but it is not confirmed. These attacks have become a feature in the Afghan war, but no less of a tragedy for the soldier that risked their life.       This attack was unexpected of course, but not extremely uncommon. This attack makes the 6th one in Afghanistan this year. While it is good to employ American soldiers to assist Afghan in this time of need, it is a possible sacrifice, endangering the soldiers' lives. There is no doubt that this plan to assist is risky. Although Trump's intentions are most likely good, he has yet to actually travel and check the conditions of his military even though he has already implemented a strategy that has caused several deaths. This alliance formed with Afghanistan has benefits, but it makes the military question if it is worth it to continue sending service members after these unexpected deaths keep occurring.      This event is similar to when France sent people to the American colonies to fight in the Revolution. The French risked their peoples' lives to assist the Americans in their time of need to form an alliance, just as the U.S. is doing now. Although it did harm many of the French people, it resulted in an alliance that benefitted both countries in times of need.

  2. I think the intent and meaning behind this idea was good, but if we're loosing men and our president hasnt addressed this specific situation yet, then why are we still sending troops to be put in harms way other than to be the good samaritian.
