The article states that Donald trump says that he believes that he properly honored John McCain after his death, it then gives a brief description of the general public outcry to his response. The article also mentioned that when Trump was asked if he believes that McCain would have been a better president than Obama, he refused to answer saying "I don't want to comment on it, I have a very strong opinion all right."
This article was written on August 30th meaning that it was posted fairly recently, I think this would affect the meaning of the article because it is talking of a more recent event that still has a lot of impact on many people's lives. I think what the article is talking specifically is unlike anything that has happened in the past, considering our that president uses the new ability to share things to the whole world as a weapon. I think this article was intended mostly for critics of Trump as a sort of "sharing his response" article. I think that it has a negative influence on the audience because it will cause even more anger at Donald Trump. It has 3 authors John Micklethwait, Margaret Talev, and Jennifer Jacobs, and while I don't think that their bias affects the accuracy, I do think that it sometimes affects the tone of the article. I do think this article was intended to be a retelling of an interview with Trump, trying to convey what he said fairly and accurately. This article is important because it shows the brash and unrelenting attitude of our current president, by not even admitting to his mistake he shows that he cares more about his image than he cares about our country being united.
I liked how you voiced about the bias that you saw in the article, and explained how that might have changed the meaning of the article.
