Dallas police Officer Amber Guyger was arrested Sunday after having shot her neighbor, Botham Jean, because she mistook his apartment for her own. The family of the young black man wanted her put in jail, but she supposedly was let out on bond. It was said she was on custody, but jail records said otherwise, as she was not listed. The family hired the same attorney that represented the families of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. Guyger's blood is being tested for traces of alcohol or drugs, but Botham's mother wonders if race played a part in it.
We can see a lot in recent history how much police brutality has affected our country. Whether or not it is a case of race, the event is truly tragic. Yet another person lost just as many other Americans have been lost due to gun violence. This article was written solely to inform the audience of this event. Many thins are still unknown to the public. Due to many events in the country over the past few years, it is more likely to assume that it may be a situation of race. As of now, it is not known whether that is true or not, all that is known is we lost yet another Citizen due to gun violence.
