Dallas cop faces manslaughter charge in neighbor shooting
https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/10/us/dallas-police-officer-amber-guyger-arrest/index.html
Summary:
Amber Guyger, a police officer who is white, was off-duty when she shot Botham Shem Jean, a black man, in his apartment, said the police on Thursday. Guyger told police she thought she was entering her own apartment not realizing she was on the wrong floor. Upon encountering Jean, she thought her home was being burglarized and opened fire, according to police.
Analysis:
This story was updated at 3:28 PM , Mon September 10, 2018. I knew the woman was white but I did not know the man who passed, Botham Jean, was black. Knowing this makes me ask the question of was this a racial situation. In the United States there have been many racial shootings were police officers have simply gotten away with the taking a black persons life. this article was written in an informing format and to send regards to the family at the end. Anne Claire StapletonDarran Simon and Eliott C. McLaughlin all helped write this article. In my opinion I believe the police officer was full of it. No matter how long you have lived in an area you always check the number of the door or find characteristics of your home to help you identify it. Then  the woman was in the doorway of the apartment which was the only way the "burglar"  could escape so, why did she shoot him twice? I also don't believe the man just left his door unlocked and that's how she got in. The witnesses even said they heard a woman knocking on the door before the shooting saying, “Let me in.” He said Jean was known to be a “meticulous” person who would not have left his apartment door ajar. Too many factors of this case are left unsaid and the mans family at least deserves some real answers. I think the two had some sort of  history or were currently together when she got upset at him one night and came to his home and killed him.
