Homeless men are being gunned down on the street in Las Vegas
https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/05/us/las-vegas-murder-investigation-trnd/index.html
Summary:
On February 2nd a homeless man, James Edgar Lewis, was executed for no apparent reason. He was sleeping under a freeway when suddenly a dark colored SUV approaches, a men gets down and shoots him in the head twice. Lewis had no time to defend himself he was dead when the first bullet went through his head. Earlier that week, on January 29th, another man was killed. Brian Clegg was shot dead while sleeping in front of a busy intersection. Police say these two murders are related. They dont have a suspect and they are urging people without a home to use the shelters that are provided.
Analysis:
This video was chilling. Watching a man get shot for no apparent reason should raise awareness over street safety. The people who knew Lewis don't know why this happened to him and they describe him as a very nice guy who never bothered anyone. I think that the man who did this is ruthless and not having a home seems like the last reason why someone would want to kill you. These men never had the chance to defend themsleves. They just went to sleep and never woke up.
This is horribly saddening. It's already bad enough that people have to sleep on the streets because they don't have anywhere else to go, and now they're being shot and killed for no good reason? I hope this can alert the people in power to the growing crisis of poverty and homelessness and help them see that they need to be upping street safety and protecting these people.
ReplyDeleteThis is very terrible that these homeless people were killed. This shows that police and very brutal and don’t have a clear reason to why they kill innocent people

ReplyDeleteThis is strait up sad and should make us worry for our fellow Americans safety. I do wonder what was happening bellow the surface. I don’t think these men deserved to die or anything, I just would like to think that the people in the van had some type of motive. Though that changes nothing about these men deserving their lives.
This is really annoying to me, I give as much as I can to help such people, but these murderers are taking the chances away from homeless people to succeed.
