Killer whales are very sensitive to changes in climate, which makes them useful markers for observing such issues. There are actually 5 distinct types (potentially species) of killer whale, each with different diets, climates, and habits. They are being observed carefully, but these observations may cease if the government carries out proposed cuts on budget.
WHALES ARE SO COOL. Some live as long as people, others swim so as to generate waves and wash seals off of icebergs. There's so many different types of whales. They're complex social creatures (although I personally better understand the dynamics of dolphins). Save the damn whales. And the bees. Stop killing the damn planet or we all flipping die, man. We need whales and bees and trees and water and air to keep this fragile lump of space magma in a thin shell of rock and air teeming with life. This relates to all of history because if we all die history will cease to matter to us and we won't have to learn from any past mistakes because we'll all be dead.
