President Obama's visit to Cuba was to “forge new agreements and commercial deals and build new ties, and for me to lay out vision for a future brighter than our past.” For the first time ever, the American flag is flying over the embassy in Cuba, which means the interests of the two countries can now, hopefully, be met. During Obama's tour of Old Havana with his family, crowds were cheering "USA! USA!" The president and his family also visited the Museo de la Ciudad, which is the official museum of the city of Havana.
I think it is wonderful that America is finally on good terms with Cuba, because this will improve trade and reduce American tension within the Western Hemisphere. This is very different from America's past relationship with Cuba when Fidel Castro was the leader, and the American government was not able to start an uprising against him in Cuba. I think this is a great new relationship for America that will open many doors.
