On the US-Mexico border, a tornado came through the city and killed 13. Meanwhile, officials in Central Texas looked for 12 people that went missing after a flood swept away their vacation home. Over 2,000 citizens were relocated after severe storms ripped through Hays County. This search began as Ciudad Acuna (Mexico) was hit with a tornado. This flood and twister are only two of the many storms that have taken place from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico.
This past weekend, 5 were killed in Oklahoma and Texas. In Corpus Christi, Jonathan McComb was injured after his family's home was swept away due to flooding. The McComb family is still missing several of its relatives and friends. The devastation faced by Central Texas residents is massive. Police cars were washed away, firehouses flooded, and rivers swollen. About 1,300 homes were ruined in the weather, and it will take a long time for the area to recover.
Such severe weather in Texas and Oklahoma has gone on for some time, leaving submerged roadways and towns across the states. In addition to injuries and flooded houses, fatalities have resulted from these storms and floods. Other weather catastrophes in history, such as Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Ike, have also resulted in many fatalities. Weather has always been/always will be such an important part of America due to its extreme impact on all aspects of life.

It's incredible how much of an impact and how much of a determining factor the weather can be. Natural disasters can transform lives in minutes, and I certainly hope that the McCombs are able to reunite with friends and family, as well as all of the other recovering families across Texas and Mexico.
