INFO:
Between this Saturday and Sunday, there was a robbery at a Chevrolet car dealership in Galveston, TX in which 88 wheels, including tires, were stolen from 22 brand new cars and trucks. The theft occurred in the middle of the night between Saturday and Sunday - when the car dealership was closed. According to Sgt. David Fairchild, the malefactors broke the gate's locks, cut the wires to the light poles, and stole the tires.
The thieves took nothing but the tires, leaving the cars on unstable wooden blocks. On Monday, a report from the Galveston County Daily News stated that some of the cars had fallen off of the blocks; causing damage to their framework.
The police are still investigating the situation and are requesting that anyone who noticed any strange activity report to the authorities as soon as possible.
RESPONSE:
I find this case kind of peculiar and interesting. It's not exactly the kind of thing you hear about everyday. You'd think the security would be tighter at a place with so many brand new cars. I wonder why the robbers chose to steal tires in this manner (rather than just stealing them from one of those places that sell lots of tires)? And why were they so eager for so many tires in the first place? I guess we'll never know, unless more information is discovered.

Tires can be sold for money for sure but I find it hard to believe the trouble people will go for easy money. (Ironically) Well hopefully they get caught, tires are pretty big after all.
ReplyDeletewhy didn't they rob a tire store thingy? this is so weird
