Wife Gives Birth AND Passes Away After Being On Life Support-Heather Harris-1st

IN VANCOUVER, AFTER SUFFERING FROM A BRAIN HEMRAGE IN DECEMBER AT 20 WEEKS PREGNANT, ROBIN BENSON, WIFE OF DYLAN BENSON WAS PLACED ON LIFE SUPPORT. DOCTORS AT VICTORIA GENERAL HOSPITAL KEPT HER BODY FUNCTIONING LONG ENOUGH FOR HER BABY BOY TO DEVELOP FOR DELIVERY. MR. BENSON SAYS, AFTER A C-SECTION PERFORMED BY DOCTORS, THEIR SON IVER BENSON WAS BORN AT 12 WEEKS PERMATURE, 2lbs, 13oz. EVEN THOUGH DYLAN WAS HOPING FOR ATLEAST ANOTHER 2 WEEKS WITH HIS WIFE ROBIN, HOURS AFTER THE DELIVERY SHE WAS REMOVED FROM LIFE SUPPORT AND PASSED AWAY.
WHILE GRIEVING FOR HIS WIFE, DYLAN BENSON STILL HAS TEARS OF JOY FOR THE BIRTH OF HIS SON WHO MUST REMAIN IN INTENSIVE CARE FOR 2 MONTHS. IN EFFORTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR IVER'S EDUCATION AND PAYMENT FOR CAREGIVERS, BENSON SURPASSED THE GOAL OF $36,000 AND WAS DONATED $160,329.
THIS IS A TRUE SADNESS AND BLESSING ALL IN ONE BUT IT IS GREAT TO SEE THAT PEOPLE STILL HAVE HEARTS TO DONATE MONEY TO THIS MAN AND HIS FAMILY.

    I couldn't even imagine losing your wife after they had a baby, this man is strong and I am glad that people donated to help his son.

    This is a great story. Though the woman did pass away, it is good to see that it wasn't a complete tragedy; her husband now has a son by whom he will never forget his wife.

    So sad I couldnt even imagine losing someone like this. Although it is better to bring someone in the world while losing another than to completely lose one.

    I can't imagine being in a situation similar to this one. My heart goes out to Benson and Iver. I'm so glad that people donated as much as they did to help this family.

    comment by rhyann lee 5th period I feel really bad for this man to have such a joy and such a sadness at the same time but he is still very strong that's good that he is taking care of his son. its also great that so much was donated for his son

    It would be so difficult to be put in the position that the husband was put in. That's such a hard decision to make and he is very strong for doing what he had to do.
