Felicia Padilla 5th period: "4 - year old Syrian refugee found alone in the desert"
A 4-year-old Syrian refugee named Marwan was discovered alone in the middle of a desert. He has become separated from his mother when workers for the United Nations found him. A United Nations official reported that he was successfully reunited with his family across the border in Jordan. When the boy was discovered, all he was carrying was a small plastic bag. Marwan is one of more than one million child refugees to flee Syria since the three-year-old conflict began, and one of more than two million people overall who have fled the "war-torn nation." Many of the refugees end up in Jordan.
This must have been incredibly scary for this four year old boy. I don't know what I would have done at four years old if I was in an unfamiliar territory and without my mom. He was extremely lucky to have been found by UN officials who were able to help him reunite with his mom.

ReplyDeleteThe child should have never left by himself in the first place.
