Rand Paul has decided to file a class action lawsuit against the Obama administration regarding their NSA policy- The same policy that was made public by morally convicted info-leaker Edward Snowden.
Rand's reasoning? The government policy of collecting metadata violates citizens' 4th amendment rights, and is therefore unconstitutional and should be abandoned.
This type of government surveillance is, officially, an attempt to deter terrorism. Who knows whether that is the data's sole purpose. I understand Paul's point of view, and I do believe that there are probably more efficient, less controversial ways to keep tabs on terrorism in this country.
