Summary~
New Jersey woman (Katelyn McClure) faces 4 years in prison for scamming more than $400,000 from GoFundMe donors. She claimed to be raising money for a homeless person in Philadelphia. In 2017 she ran out of gas, Johnny Bobbitt Jr. saw her and gave her his last $20 for gas. She and her then-boyfriend started a GoFundMe page to raise money to get him of the streets. This money was used for them, they would but expensive clothes, cars and went to trips.

Prior knowledge : I knew about the scam because this was really big news during 2017 but now she is facing charges. This was a really bad thing to do, using the money you were going to give to someone who really needs it. It also states that she fabricated the whole story of him giving her $20, why did she have to do all that? This can be related to scams that had happened in the US, like in the 1920 the get rich quick method was huge.

Very well written article, I didn't know about this but it is really bad , and disappointing.
