As of today, there are a total of 555 measles cases in the United States, already the highest it's been in 5 years. If the numbers keep rising, public health experts fear a record in cases after two decades of measles being "eliminated." States that have confirmed cases are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas and Washington. In NYC, all of its cases have been in Brooklyn, and officials declared a public health emergency to prevent the outbreak from spreading.
Please, just get vaccinated. There are ways to prevent outbreaks like this. The simplest vaccinations can help anyone, and should be available to everyone.

I hope something can be done to help and to stop these numbers from increasing ~ Stephannie Hernandez
ReplyDeleteIt is crazy that the numbers for these measles are increasing that fast and wide-spread. I definetly agree with Lesie that people need to start taking action and more responsibility to take care of themselves and just get vaccinated.
