An elderly man was admitted to a branch of the Mount Sinai hospital for abdominal surgery when a blood test showed he had contracted a rare fungus known as Canadia Auris. Recently the fungus has been detected in several states leading to the CdC placing it on the urgent threats list. even after the mans death, the fungus lived on spreading all over the mans hospital room, leading to the use of special cleaning equipment and the room being torn up. The fungus is resistant to many anti fungals due to the drugs overuse.
This is another example of a superbug being caused by the overuse of a drug. Time and time again, super bugs are caused by antibiotics being used when it is notnecessary, making it harder to treat the mutated diseases.
