A unidentified man was checked in at the Orlando Regional Medical Center as a patient around 6 a.m. Orlando police officer, Chef John Mina said that the man seemed very calm at first, but then got really hostile and aggressive. He was threatening to shoot any one who came near him, which lead to the hospital going into lockdown, and lead him to getting shot and killed by the police. "I think if patients hadn't needed care right away, we would have talked longer," Mina said. The man was inspected to find out there wasn't a weapon actually on his body.

Florida back at it again with people getting shot and killed. Honestly this doesn't shock me how many deaths have happened in Florida, in the past couple of weeks. In 2016, statistics have shown that out of 43.1% of deaths in florida, 12.6% is dedicated to firearm. Honestly I wanna say this needs to stop, but we all know florida is out of control. #GETITTOGETHERFLORIDA

  1. This is so sad. I feel bad for the people suffering in Florida. I hope nothing else happens in that poor state, they need a break. Very well written.

  2. The fact that the first instinct is to pull out a gun rather than arresting someone and gathering information is terrifying and further pushes the call for reform within the police departments all over the country.

    1. I agree. We literally JUST discussed how Hamilton talked his way out of 10 duels before Burr. Guns shouldn’t be the first solution. Also, can we take a minute to appreciate #getittogetherflorida

  3. I find that it is awful how he got inspected and searched for weaponry, after he was killed! What is the point of searching him, if he is already dead??? Also, it was completely wrong for him to be shot, especially if it was an empty threat. This poor guy could have easily been confused, or on medication, or have a mental illness, but he got killed before he could explain himself!!!
