The new an upcoming musician Cardi B was arrested earlier this morning and charged with reckless endangerment and assault. The charges are based on an incident that occurred in a New York strip club. Reportedly Cardi was throwing chairs, bottles, and other items at two bartenders who worked for the club. There has been lots of rumor that Cardi feels she is above the law because she is a celebrity, and is reporting on social media that it was all orchestrated by her. She did come and confess to the police about the incident, but just because you are rich and or have some so-called power doesn't mean you are above the law.
I personally am a big fan of Cardi B and her music. She is really funny and her rags to riches story help her become more relatable in the eyes of viewers. However, I feel like the incident that has occurred is badly affecting the younger generation that looks up to her. Seeing a role model do bad things or get put into jail can change children's behavior and overall demeanor. celebrities especially ones who were not born into have to know that what you do doesn't just affect you anymore, but also the people that look up to you.

Emma Burkey: I think the point you made about being role models for the younger generations is very true and speaks to many celebrities that aren't setting good examples. When we become someone's biggest fan, we should know before hand if that includes following their example or not.
ReplyDeleteI'm personally not a big fan of Cardi but yeah, just because you're a celebrity doesn't mean you can get away from the law. Many celebrities have been arrested recently haven't they?
ReplyDeleteI agree that she should be mindful of what she’s putting put into the world because young people are looking up to her. As for being above the law I don’t think that was Cardi’s intention to look like. I’m a firm believer in that she’s believes everyone one is equal because of where she came from and brought up.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Cardi's lifestyle has not slowed down since she had a baby. In my personal opinion I think she should be taking some time off from the public eye and music/partying scene and spend time raising her baby and learning how to be a great parent.
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree with you! I too am a fan of her music and her funny and extra personality but, she definitely is abusing her power of fame and its definitely going to affect her viewers. Eventually, even though she thinks that this is not affecting her it will in the long run because either she will lose lots of fans or she could have changed and set in that behavior for the next generation.
