Typhoon goes through Philippines

Kristen Ramirez

This Saturday, Typhoon Mangkhut made its way through after thousands of people evacuated their homes. By Sunday morning, 25 deaths had been issued but, there still wasn't any signs of mass destruction like there was 5 years ago from a Typhoon Haiyan. Some officials still had barely begun to get in contact with officials due to communication outages and power blackouts. The Typhoon began at 1:40am with winds around 120mph in similar ways just like Hurricane Florence on the other side of the world. Reporters also mentioned that by Saturday night, the Typhoon crossed the Philippines largest Island and was headed towards Hong Kong and Southern China. Sunday morning, the wind slowed down to 100mph but, there was lots of damage done.

In my opinion, I think its great that there making residents evacuate to make sure they stay safe but, I also think its crazy how a natural disaster can change your life so fast, leaving you without anything or anybody. This isn't the first either, November 3rd-11th 2013, Typhoon Haiyan hit being one go the strongest typhoons ever recorded in history it killed 3,600 people in the Philippines alone. In fact, people were still finding bodies in January 2014.
