In the UK, women may have to 170 years to establish parity with mean when it comes to pay and employment. The report by the World Ecomonic Forum found that the economic desparity between men and women around the world was rising due to a “dramatic slowdown in progress” with the estimate for when the economic gap between men and women could close dropping to 2186 this year. Another factor, is a drop in women’s labor force participation, with the global average for woman at 54 percent compared to 84 percent for men.
This article faces the complete facts of how gender inequality is still alive. The fact that there is a huge percentage difference in labor participation is crazy. Women and men should most definitely be equal because Over 100 years is too long for women to finally be equal to men in the way of economy.
Exactly. How come half of our country gets payed less then the other half? I am very grateful for the journey we have had and how far we have gone, but people the work isn’t done!
ReplyDeleteThis is just straight up not fair. Nowadays, women and men are working all the same jobs, but women are getting paid less than the men. 2186 is a really long time to have to wait to get equal pay for men and women.
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe we are running into this constant situation women should be paid the same as men, they are doing the same job so why does their gender effect their paycheck?
ReplyDeleteI cant wait for my great-great-great-grandchildren to finally get equal pay! In all seriousness, this is crazy. How on earth is it fair or even remotely okay that two people working the same job get a different pay according to something entirely out of their control?
ReplyDeleteThis problem shouldn't even exist. We like to say that we are in a modern world and yes we are if we are talking technology wise but towards equal treatment and pay we have a long way to go.

ReplyDeleteThe distribution of money between men and women should be the same everywhere, and it should be this way right now... Not in 2186! -Mia Murphy
