Natural gas line explosion leads to evacuations in western Pennsylvania town

Summary: It was about 5:00 AM ET on Monday when a gas line exploded in a small western Pennsylvania town. Fortunately due to a good job by the Beaver County Police Department, no injuries were accounted for. Local Aliquippa, PA resident Chelsea Guthrie told CNN, "The flames were coming up about 10 or 15 feet above the tree line." While nobody knows the cause of the fire, The Dallas-based company Energy Transfer, concluded that all the regulatory modifications have been made and a thorough investigation will be conducted. 30 people were evacuated from their homes and were cared for by the American Red Cross in a fire hall. While this unfortunate incident continues to clear up, all schools have been shut down for the day while Energy Transfer continues to investigate the situation.

Although no injuries were recorded, the explosion caused a gas shortage in Manitoba and parts of the U.S. In addition, Provincial highway 303 was closed down until the fire was extinguished. This relates to history because accidents regularly occur all the time and it's important that we learn from those mistakes to prevent potential accidents in the future.
