Isabella Sanders - Ariana Grande reminds us that women arenot safe in this county

https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/03/opinions/ariana-grande-aretha-franklin-funeral-campoamor/index.html

Will at Aretha Franklins funeral Ariana was not appropriately touched by Pastor Charles H. Ellis III. He was not intentionally touching her but people started coming at him and saying #respectariana, he came back with saying that he did not notice that he was doing such things and that he apologies for his actions. Another women came forward and sayed that at her mother funeral a man came up to her and assaulted her.In the article said that 70% of victims don't come forward because they think no one will believe them, and saying that trump is encoring the sexual harassment on collage campuses. The young women that do come forward get rebuked, criticized and personally attacked all because they came forward. in this day and age women should not have to worry about his much abuse.

since anyone one can remember there as been an unfair divide between women and men and that has always been around even today. When people thought of women they thought that women do what the men as like clean cook and take care of the children at home. Now women can work and fight or work hard for what they want to do. An example of a women that stud up for what she wanted is Rosa Parks. She was colored and a women and what did she do wrong? She sat on the wrong part of the bus. And so she was thrown in jail. If you are a women of color it is a lot harder for you to do thing like be excepted for jobs or even in society today we all need to come together and work hard to fight for what we want.

  1. I also agree with this, I think it’s terrible that we are at a funeral to “Respect” Aretha who was also big about feminism. And there’s someone being disrespectful at her funeral.

  2. I agree it is completely disrespectful and shows how little society has come to improving the normal everyday lives of women.

  3. I completely agree. Whether Pastor Charles H. Ellis did or did not intentionally touch Ariana Grande inappropriately, it was still incredibly disrespectful. We all need to acknowledge PERSONAL SPACE IS A REAL THING THAT PEOPLE WANT! No woman should feel unsafe anywhere, and especially not at a funeral.

  4. This definitely shows a lack of respect towards Ariana Grande, as well as to Aretha Franklin, as she is meant to be honored for her accomplishments at her own funeral. To take the focus off of Franklin and to create a spectacle, whether it was with positive or negative intent, is inappropriate.

  5. I agree women are definitely viewed differently than men. I hope that women will be brave enough to speak out when these acts are done to them.

  7. I agree with you Isabella. I feel women have come so far compared to how it used to be, but it is definitely no where near where it should be. Women in this world should not be afraid to speak up and should receive the same amount of respect as anyone else. We should not be criticizing and hiding the situation but making a point to stand up and let people know it is wrong; we need to make people aware of the issue. Humans should not be treating other humans with such disrespect. Lily Philips
