Summary~
Hurricane Florence has already killed 18 people , and trapped a lot of people. Flooding has gotten really bad in North Carolina, transportation department has been telling people not to travel in the state. Many highways are closed and flooding has cut off the coastal city of Wilmington.
Analysis~
Place & Time: September 16,2018 at 7:55pm , North & South Carolina and Southwest Virginia
Prior Knowledge ~ I did know that there was a really dangerous hurricane (hurricane Florence ) because it is in the news and it’s a really dangerous hurricane that is hitting North & South Carolina. However I did not know how many people have died from the hurricane and I was really shocking of how many people are losing their lives due to the hurricane.
Synthesis~ Something very similar to this hurricane is hurricane Katrina.A category 5 hurricane that was very dangerous that it killed about 1,000-2000 people.

It's crazy to only hear about weather disasters like these because living in the city, we never expirience them fully.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Not only do we live in the city, but also not very close to the ocean. The worst we have to deal with are tornadoes, which last minutes, however, hurricanes seem much more catastrophic, as they last for several weeks and cause much more damage.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you it is very shocking that so many people have died because of the hurricane,, and I hope that the people who were damaged are being helped. Also it is sad that things like this happen frequently and so fast.
