This article was written by Sandra Gonzalez an entertainment reporter for CNN .CNN news stays pretty updated about the entertainment industry and have many reporters that are dedicated to writing the articles with much detail. Attending to art schools since elementary school and having a sister majoring in filming helps me understand that not a lot of color people get their time to shine but its slowly changing compared to how it was in the past , how Caucasian people had to interpret people of color in films(racial issues). It makes me have hope for everyone that's an actor or wants to be an actor. This article is written for anyone that wants to pursuit a career in the industry and to those who don't feel accepted in the industry, pretty positive. The author is making a point that people of color are growing and being recognized in Television. More awards will be given to people of color , color doesn't define talent nor who we really are.

I totally agree, this gives people of color hope that they will have their time to shine. I myself would like to be in films, and positive changes like this makes me feel like I have a shot at it. I hope that people of color as a whole will continue to be successful in the film industry (and other industries) so they can break barriers and prove others wrong. I am so proud and I hope that awards like this will soon be more common for people of color to receive.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, this is a step in the right direction- however small it might be. There has been some incredible talent that has gone unrecognized just because the bias of the film industry is fifty years behind that of the real world. Art reflects life, and the film industry is doing a bad job of it.

DeleteI agree with you 100%! I definitely love how people of color are being acknowledged for their work in telling their magnificent stories. The entertainment business is evolving around diversity more today than they have in the past few years. This is only one step closer to positive outlooks on people of color. People of color in general are doing a great job by breaking biased barriers and recognizing that the color of their skin won't stop them from doing what they love in life. - Ariana Oliver
ReplyDeleteI love this blog!! This blog definitely shows how times have changed in this century and how everyday we take bigger and bigger steps to equality. This event shows that everyone’s talent and hard work should be recognized no matter what race, size, ethnicity, religion, or sex you are. Hard work is hard work and it needs to be recognized. Congrats to those artists
