Emma Lake: 'Female Physicians Don't Work As Hard', According to Some Entitled White Man

So basically some white male physician in Plano told Dallas Medical Journal his female colleagues don't work as hard hence their underpay. He "didn't know his comments would be made public" and they were "misconstrued", allegedly, because he then of course went under fire for it.
His name is Gary Tigges, and his response along with others tells that female doctors' salaries tend to be two-thirds of their male counterparts'. Woo, big surprise.

I'll just start by saying, sigh, it's 2018. I thought we left professionally passive-aggressive snide white men who expect women to beg to bear their children and to kiss their feet and to just happily do their bidding in the 1970s. Even if you do want to push your privilege on everyone else, at least mind your audience. We're in the midst of a revolution of female, gay, and p.o.c. expression, and you think a statement you make to your white bros that ends up on a public article is cute? Not gonna lie, sometimes I wonder where these people mamas be.

This article was written to give an account about all the twists and turns fake white men caught voicing their true opinions face when they're exposed and shot down for them, and then they have to say things like "w-well, I meant that in this economy, women don't really do as much, because they're worried about other things..."

As a black young woman, I can firmly say I don't have room to worry about other things. I'm literally just trying to make it through a day without feeling like a) a piece of meat or b) like America hates me or c) all of the above. So your argument is invalid.

The point of this is really to let people know this is the ever present idealism shared by many, many, many men, and clearly women don't have much room to live out on these streets. It's highly important that people know while we're progressing in many things there's still so many things we're struggling with as a society. The biggest thing I got, and that we should all get, is: don't start crying 'cause you got caught. If you're gonna make a bold statement, at least don't be pretentious about trying to lighten the mood with words you don't even believe. You said it; take responsibility. Especially if it's something as purely ignorant as this. I rest my case.

  1. It is really upsetting that even after all women have proved in this world, that we are still being treated like this. If someone were to go out at state something as rash or dauntless as this, they should at least have evidence to back it up. And even though, he didn't expect his comments to go viral, he still shouldn't have said it. This is a perfect example of the result when you don't follow this rule: "if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all."
