Hurricane Florence Threatens Carolinas; 1 Million Ordered to Evacuate
Hurricane Florence is a recently discovered storm that is headed straight for the east coast of the United States, specifically the Carolinas. The government is taking all safety precautions possible to ensure that no life gets taken by hurricane florence. Although a mandatory evacuation is inconvenient for many that have scheduled a vacation, have just moved, those who are not employed and more, it is necessary to make sure that lives are not being taken due to the carelessness of the state. These steps include ordering near 1 million individuals to evacuate, making freeways and roads one-way towards the inland, schools being closes, and helping more residents leave sooner so they will not have to worry about getting struck by it.
This event in contrast to Hurricane Harvey, is taking much stricter precautions to ensure the well-being and safety of residents and those who are visiting. Unlike Hurricane Florence, Harvey did not impose a mandatory evacuation of cities and the areas that the hurricane could possibly strike, which led to people being homeless and caused several deaths due to the unexpected disaster. Hopefully these safety measures will target the problem and get every citizen in a safe situation when they leave the danger.
I agree with you, after Harvey, I think that evacuation is a good idea. After the summer of hurricanes last year where there was a category 4 every other week, lets hope the pattern doesn't start up gain.
